Hiking & Biking the Great Northwoods
If you're a hiker or biker you'll find plenty of trails close to Madeline Lake Resort. Take a short stroll to Madeline Lake Trails and choose from a number of different hiking loops along old logging roads, each with scenic overlooks of pristine lakes. Each of the four well-marked Madeline Lake Trails wind around three lakes and offer a variety or scenery. Or take a short bike ride to Clear Lake State Park where you can choose from several well groomed hiking trails or mountain bike on the Raven Trail system.
The Raven trail system has three loops through woodland areas with varying terrain. There are a number of single track biking trails that offer a variety of challenges. There's also a self guided nature loop with interpretive signs and benches. The nature trail features a bridge crossing a fine example of a northwoods bog where you can get close-up and personal with the our native flora.
Golfing the Northwoods
There are numerous golf courses in our area for all levels—from novice to experienced golfers. Select from Timber Ridge, Trout Lake, Pinewood, or any of the other five golf courses in the area. Whether you choose 9 holes or 18 they all offer great northwoods scenery.
